Adjust appearance of the menu.

  • Define the menu's orientation and menu position (you can use relative or absolute position for the menu).
  • Set common menu parameters for all items such as orientation of menu and submenus, menu position, size, color, font style, background images, shadow, effects, icons, alignment and may others. Some parameters you can assign for normal and mouse over states.
  • Select item by clicking it and change item's text, link, link target attribute, tooltip, icons for normal and mouse over states.
  • Create Individual Item Styles and assign it for separate top item or submenu item.
  • Save your menu as .js file or export it to html page.

  • Let's assign text to the dhtml menu items. Select first item by clicking it and then enter text in the "Text" field on the Item Parameters window. You will see that, as you enter the text, the selected item's text in the Preview window will change too.


    Then select next item with click. Enter its text and so on.


  • To select a group of items you can use Shift and Ctrl keys. To rename an item click on it and hold a mouse cursor for a second. To move items select items you want and use a mouse drag'n'drop method. To copy items select those you want and use a mouse drag'n'drop method holding a Ctrl key.


    Also you can use a contextual menu - a right mouse click on the list of items.
  • After finishing, the menu will look like this:

  • Let's apply ready to use templates for the menu. To do it just select template you like in the Templates window.


    When you find a template you like, click it to apply. For example, after choosing one of the "Vista Style 2-17" template, you'll get following result:


  • Now let's add some icons. Select item and then click the "Click to select image" button on the Item Parameters window to assign icons for normal and mouseover states.


    "Open" dialog will appear, where you can choose an icon. Other way to assign an icon is to type its full path and name in the "Icon" field ("c:/myicons/stylish_3/pretty.ico", for example).

    To change icon sizes you should set the following parameters in the Icons section of parameters list:

    Repeat this for each menu item. You should get something like this in result:

  • Use images for icons, backgrounds of items. Using images you can create menus entirely based on graphics.
  • Use any necessary font of any color, size and font decoration. Create any available type, thickness and color of a menu's frame.Choose any color for backgrounds of submenus and items.
  • Specify various values for padding and spacing for the whole menu and for each separate submenu.
  • Create separators using your own pictures, size and alignment.
